The 10th Asia-Pacific Conference of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry (APCTCC-10) was held on February 19-23, 2023 in Binh Dinh, Vietnam. More than 350 experts, scholars, professors, and students from 24 countries and regions attended the conference. Wu Yun-Dong, Academician of China Academy of Sciences and Vice Executive Director of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, attended and delivered the opening speech. He expressed his gratitude to the organizers for their hardworking efforts, hoping that the participants could conduct in-depth exchanges and fruitful cooperation for new scientific breakthroughs.
The conference focused on computing technology-based fundamental researches, involving molecular science, biomedicine simulation, and other fields. The special reports made by the scientists mainly focused on the evolution of quantum computing history – model theory – computing methods, elaborating the quantum chemistry computing methods of gaseous phase, liquid phase, and solid phase, artificial intelligence and machine learning in quantum chemistry computing and biomedicine simulations, material science – catalytic materials, and renewable energy sources.
The Asia-Pacific Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists (APATCC) is the international academic organization representing the theoretical and computational chemists in Asia-Pacific. In APATCC-9 held in 2019, Academician Wu Yundong was elected chairman for the new term of the association. Held by the APATCC every two or three years, the APCTCC acts as an important event for the theoretical and computational chemists in Asia-Pacific to exchange their latest research findings, commend and award the distinguished scholars. The conference attracts the extensive involvement of those from governments, industries, and academic circles as well.
