Highlights
During the past two decades, Prof. Xing has developed the atmospheric and room temperature plasma (ARTP) mutation breeding technology and the ARTP biological breeding equipment has been successfully applied in scientific research and biological industry, and exported to overseas. Before joining Tsinghua University in 2001, he had worked in universities of Japan for ten years. He was awarded the Fellow of School of engineering, the University of Tokyo in 2018. He served as the director of China Biotech Fermentation Industry Association and vice chairman of microbial breeding branch and also served as the associate editor of Biological Engineering Journal and Editorial Committee of many other domestic and international academic journals in the field of biochemistry. He has more than 320 publications and obtained more than 80 authorized invention patents. Since 2014, he has been continuously selected as a highly cited scholar of Elsevier in China. In 2009, he won the second prize of technological innovation award of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association. In 2010, he was awarded the Creative Talent of China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. He won the Science Technology Achievement Award, Higher Institutions of MOE (2015), Gold Medal of The 45th Geneva International Inventions (2017), and First Prize of Technological Invention of China National Light Industry Associations (2019). As PI or Co-PI, 19 grants have been funded by National Science Fundation of China, Minstry of Science and Technology, International Projects and university-funded projects, and 10 projects have been supported by industries including international companies on environmental microbiology, industry biotechnology, bioenergy.
Professor Teruyuki Nagamune, former director of the Department of bioengineering, University of Tokyo, awarded the fellow memorial to Xing Xinhui, 2018.
