2019 Top 10 Advances in Life Science of China AnnouncedDate：2020-09-28
September 26 saw the award ceremony for China's latest top 10 life science advances. The ceremony, co-organized by China Union of Life Science Societies, Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL), Science, Technology and Innovation Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, and Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology, spotlighted on these life science achievements made in 2019 across China and gave public insights into cutting-edge research and innovation. Following the ceremony were 10 open lectures given by the award recipients. Due to the pandemic, the event offered both on-site and online accesses to its audiences. About 100 teenager audiences attended on-site and 160,000 audiences joined the virtual event.
SZBL Director ZHAN Qimin opened the ceremony with a speech. He said that the event will unfold chapters of life science to the public and provide opportunities that spur ideas and innovation in the fields of life science, biotech and medicine. He also encouraged the teenagers to uphold passion and dream for science, and to make contribution to the future development of science.
The scientists were awarded for their contribution to the science's world.
Open lectures featuring the 10 award-receiving discoveries were given.
Government officials, SZBL leadership and prestigious scholars attended this annual event, which is the 5th consecutive recognition for those great Chinese scientists and their research that make impact in the field of life science.
