The AD Research Symposium, SZBL was successfully held

On February 26 and 27, 2024, a prestigious academic conference was held in Shenzhen, bringing together renowned experts in the field of Alzheimer's disease (AD) from across China. This AD symposium, jointly organized by Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) and Lingang Laboratory, and hosted by the Institute of Neurological and Psychiatric Disorders of SZBL, was dedicated to fostering cooperation and sharing resources within China’s AD research community. The conference featured 32 scholars and clinical doctors from various research institutes, universities, and hospitals, who delivered keynote presentations. Together, they explored topics related to AD mechanisms, diagnosis, and therapeutic research, with an audience of over 300 participants.

Dr. Wang Kaiyu, Dr. Xu Chunlong, Dr. Cheng Zhixian, Dr. Xu Huatai, and Dr. Jin Lei from Lingang Laboratory, along with Dr. He Yun and Dr. Jiang Xian from SZBL, served as moderators for the keynote presentations.

The Symposium was opened by Dr. Li Xiaojiang from Jinan University and closed by Dr. Gan Wenbiao from SZBL. Both emphasized the importance and urgency of collaboration in domestic AD research and expressed the hope that this conference would deepen cooperation in this field.

This AD Symposium has established a high-level platform for academic exchange on AD research within China, highlighting the advanced investigations of academics and medical professionals, as well as their willingness and confidence in seeking cooperation and collaborative innovation. The attending experts noted that such in-depth academic seminars focusing on AD are rare in the nation. They committed to fostering a unified approach, enhancing dialogue, intensifying collaboration, and collectively propelling AD research forward. The Symposium’s conveners also declared the event will take place biannually, with great anticipation for the forthcoming gathering.

On December 4th, the opening ceremony and biomedical industrial innovation salon of Bay Charm (Guangming Biomedical Innovation Center) was held at the Weiguang Life Science Park in Xinhu Street, Guangming District, Shenzhen City. Over two hundred people, including municipal and district leaders, leaders of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, representatives from Shenzhen Weiguang Biological Co., Ltd., resident companies, investment institutions, and cooperative units attended the event.
