On November 9th, 2022, HKUST (GZ) and Shenzhen Bay Laboratory signed a strategic cooperation agreement to collaborate in cutting-edge innovation fields such as life information, biomedicine, medical devices, and artificial intelligence based on their respective scientific and technological advantages. Professor Ni Mingxuan, President of HKUST (GZ), Professor Wu Jingshen, Vice-president (teaching) of HKUST (GZ), Wu Yun-Dong, Executive Vice Director of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, Hu Xiaojun, Party Secretary of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, and faculty representatives of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory attended the signing ceremony online.
Wu Jingshen expressed his bright vision for the two parties’ deeper and more practical cooperation in various fields. He said that the university will give full play to its academic advantages and mobilize its resources to create conditions for the cooperation between the two parties.
Wu Yun-Dong thanked HKUST (GZ) for its support in the development of the Laboratory. He said that he was one of the earliest teachers in HKUST (GZ) and spent 18 years in teaching and researching there. He was very grateful for that and looked forward to the future cooperation between the two parties. He hopes that with the joint efforts, the two parties will achieve fruitful results in all aspects of development.
Ni Mingyuan expressed in his speech that HKUST (GZ) attaches great importance and its vision for bilateral cooperation to the cooperation between the two parties and hoped to contribute to the technological innovation and social development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area under the sincere cooperation between the two parties.
The signing marks that the two parties will work together to contribute to industrial upgrading, social development and scientific and technological progress in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
