The 24th China High-tech Fair (hereinafter referred to as “CHTF”), with the theme “Innovations Driven by Technological Reforms, Development Driven by Technological Innovation”, was held at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center from Nov 15th to Nov 19th, 2022. Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) took it technical achievement, full-automatic fundus camera, for the event. Dr. Shen Weijun, a Senior Principal Investigator and director of the Centre of Translational Research, SZBL, attended the 2022 China Hi-tech Forum and delivered a keynote speech.
SZBL took the full-automatic fundus camera, a product developed by Ren Qiushi’s group from the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, for the event. As the first full-automatic fundus camera in China, the product can form images via dual camera bases on conventional ones and achieve XYZ three-dimensional automatic positioning by using image control and feature identification. With favorable optical imaging performances, convenient operation, automatic focusing, automatic exposure, and low reliance on human operation, it is easy to acquire fundus images.
At the venue, SZBL provided visitors with test experiences and presentations of the full-automatic fundus camera. The developers and instructors explained with professional and easy words to help the visitors have a better understanding on the technical principles, scopes, and commercial applications of the achievement, attracting numerous enterprises for negotiations. The venue saw numerous visitors and busy atmosphere. Multiple media, including Guangdong TV and Shenzhen TV, interviewed and reported SZBL, receiving extensive attentions from all walks of life.
In the meantime, the employees from the Office of Technology Transfer, SZBL introduced the positioning and missions, scientific research platforms, talents, and construction progress of SZBL and demonstrated its businesses and cooperation models. After the event, some medical equipment enterprises immediately contacted the Office for cooperation.
On the morning of Nov 17th, 2022, Dr. Shen Weijun was invited to the “Life Science and Medical Ecology” for the 2022 China Hi-tech Forum and delivered a speech titled “From Experiment Table to Sickbed”, New Model of New Drug R&D for Scientific Research Institutions to share the experience of international technology transfer and the preclinical new drug R&D capacity of the Center, new drug R&D projects and cooperation models, receiving warm responses from the participants.
